Dr. John Hines gained his PhD in Chemistry from Oxford University before joining Unilever as a research scientist.
Working first in the Laundry category, John lead teams in research and new product development for famous brands such as Persil and Surf, including two years in The Netherlands.
As R&D Operations Manager for Dove, John pioneered innovation strategy and "product philosophy", including the development of Dove's widely acknowledged stances on real care and sustainability.
In 2008, John left Unilever to take up a new challenge with CERAM Research heading the Consultancy business and as Chief Product & Technology Officer for the group. From 2010, John is Group R&D Director for Deb Group Ltd, the world's leading away from home skin care company.
During her time in academia dr. Bloomfield's research interests were mainly concerned with the study of antimicrobial agents used in the community and in medicine. Most particularly, she was involved in studying the molecular and physiological basis for the development of resistance to antimicrobial agents. During her time in academia she was also involved in a range of projects studying the role of hygiene, including the role of cleaning and disinfection, in preventing the spread of infectious disease in the hospital, food processing, domestic and other environments. Dr. Bloomfield's role at Unilever Research was involved with raising awareness of the importance of hygiene in the domestic setting largely through the development of the International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH) (www.ifh-homehygiene.org)
After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 1993, prof. dr. McBain moved to the University of Cambridge to study for a Ph.D. in medical microbial ecology with the MRC at Addenbrooke's Hospital. Since 1999, his research at Manchester has focused on the responses of biofilms to antimicrobial treatments and the interaction of microorganisms colonising the skin, nasopharynx, oral cavity and intestine with the human host in health and disease. He has successfully supervised or co-supervised over 20 Ph.D. students.
Dr. Meyer supports product development and technical service in terms of product efficacy and application testing. He develops test strategies for screening and confirmatory testing and is further in charge of interpreting results and approving claims. Dr. Meyer is actively involved in scientific publications and committee work. In addition to that, he is a respected lecturer in international events in the EMEA region. An important part of Dr. Meyer’s work consists of cooperation with the Regulatory Affairs team when registering new biocides, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. He also supports Regulatory Affairs in advocacy for guideline development to ensure compliance of products.
Dirk Bockmühl studied Biology in Düsseldorf an obtained his PhD in Microbiology on the molecular pathogenicity of Candida albicans. From 2001-2010 he worked in the consumer goods industry, where he was responsible for numerous microbiological projects for cosmetics and the laundry and home care sector. In 2010 he changed to the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, Germany, as a professor for hygiene and microbiology. From 2011-2013 he was also dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences. His research interest is in domestic hygiene, especially in the development of consumer related test methods for laundry and cleaning, and in the research on microbial communities in the domestic setting. Prof. Bockmühl is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Sepawa and a board member of the division "Chemistry of Laundering" in the German Chemical Society (GDCh).
Jan Kluytmans did his medical training as well as specialization in Clinical Microbiology at Erasmus Medical University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The title of his PhD thesis in 1996, was: Nasal carriage of Staphylococcus aureus: the key to preventing staphylococcal disease. His scientific career focuses on the epidemiology and control of nosocomial infections, with a special interest in Staphylococcus aureus, surgical site infections and catheter related infections. He discovered the concept of perioperative eradication of nasal carriage as an infection control measure.
He has been involved in many national and international guidelines on infection control, especially those dealing with the control of MRSA and is currently the chair of the Dutch Society of Medical Microbiology. At present he is working in the Amphia Hospital in Breda/Oosterhout, Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital in Tilburg. He holds a position as a scientist at Julius Center, UMCU, Utrecht since 2014. He has more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and given more than 500 presentations and lectures.
De heer Molenaar is van oorsprong verpleegkundige, werkte ruim 11 jaar bij de GGD Amsterdam als deskundige infectiepreventie, en is inmiddels volledig werkzaam bij het LCHV (Landelijk Centrum Hygiëne en Veiligheid) en het LCI (Landelijke Coördinatie Infectieziektenbestrijding) van het RIVM. In die functie neemt hij deel aan landelijke werkgroepen voor het opstellen van richtlijnen en procedures. De heer Molenaar geeft begeleiding en voorlichting aan professionals werkzaam in de gezondheidszorg maar ook aan medewerkers werkzaam in andere sectoren zoals de schoonmaakbranche, uitvaartzorg, daklozencentra, ambulancediensten, (medische) kindercentra, etc. Hij heeft veel ervaring met de dagelijkse praktijk van hygiëne in de openbare gezondheidszorg, waarvoor soms geen richtlijnen zijn.
Ing. Charlotte Michels-Breukers werkt inmiddels meer dan 20 jaar als deskundige infectiepreventie, eerst in dienst van verschillende ziekenhuizen en sinds 1995 ook als ZZP. Sinds 2012 werkt ze onder de naam CareB4 en heeft ze zich gespecialiseerd in de verpleeghuissector. Daarnaast werkt ze regelmatig als interim in ziekenhuizen of op projectbasis voor verschillende industriële sectoren.
Ing. Charlotte Michels-Breukers heeft zich sinds begin 2016 verdiept in de schoonmaak binnen zorginstellingen en heeft in een klein team hard gewerkt aan een bijdrage in de verbetering van de kwaliteit van zorg.
Rita Brouwer is sinds 1999 werkzaam in de schoonmaakbranche. Na de studie Facility Management is zij begonnen als trainer/coach bij Alpheios en daar momenteel actief als Performance Consultant. Zij helpt zorgorganisaties bij complexe infectiepreventie-vraagstukken en het neerzetten van een excellente schoonmaakorganisatie, één van de belangrijke voorwaarden voor goede en veilige zorg. Haar passie zit vooral in het geven van inzicht en het tot stand brengen van gedragsverandering en eigenaarschap als het gaat om infectiepreventie. De factor mens is van levensbelang, maar een organisatie moet goed staan wil de mens tot zijn recht komen. De kunst is dus om visie, beleid, mens en technologie met elkaar te verbinden. Dit is precies de meerwaarde die een partner als Alpheios aan zorgorganisaties te bieden heeft. Rita verzorgt lezingen en workshops met vernieuwende inzichten, praktische voorbeelden, humor en enthousiasme.
Peter Hamers, Soft Services Solutions Specialist bij AAFM Facility Management BV en uit dien hoofde lid van het Bestuur van de Stichting Schoonmaakkwaliteit en lid van de Commissie Kwaliteitszorg van VSR, zal ingaan op de achtergrond en de systematiek van VSR-KMS en hij zal een toelichting geven op de wijze waarop het systeem bijdraagt aan de verbetering van de hygiëne. Toetsen van de geleverde kwaliteit is immers een essentieel onderdeel van het schoonmaakproces en de verbetering van hygiëne.
De opleiding Facility Management werd door Peter in 1987 afgesloten met een scriptie over objectief kwaliteit meten van schoonmaak. Voor hem aanleiding om actief lid te worden van de Vereniging Schoonmaak Research (VSR). Na zijn studie vervulde hij facilitaire functies in diverse branches. Vanuit zijn brede ervaring maakt hij het belang van kwaliteit meten voor u duidelijk.
Bert Schulting is Senior Consultant Buiding Care en bij DiverseyCare. In die en eerdere functies binnen Diversey Care heeft hij vele jaren kennis en ervaring opgedaan in de professionele dienstverlening. Hij staat bedrijven in de schoonmaakdienstverlening bij op het gebied van resultaatgerichte hygiëne, waarbij samenwerking binnen de organisatie en op locatie een grote rol speelt. De verschillende onderdelen van de dienstverlening, het samenspel en het resultaat brengt hij samen met relaties in kaart, onder meer in een speciaal ontwikkeld samenwerkingsmodel Be Care.
Rowshonara Syeda has gained a Masters degree in Health Psychology, following a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Psychology. Before working at Public Health England (PHE), Rowshonara has previously worked in behaviour and mental health support in children, community pharmacy, and occupational health. Her interests lie in public health, behavioural science, and health improvement including promoting good hygiene, exercise and nutrition. Rowshonara is part of the e-Bug team at PHE who specialise in developing health educational resources that are used across Europe to teach 4-18 year olds about microbes, the spread of infection, antibiotics and vaccinations. She is currently working on projects including a European wide project that aims to change consumer behaviour around food hygiene and food safety through effective tools, communication and education.
Sinds 1991 werkzaam bij de Nederlandse Voedsel en Warenautoriteit. Begonnen als inspecteur, uitvoering geven aan toezicht en inmiddels al meer dan 10 jaar bezig met ontwikkeling en vernieuwing van toezicht. Ontwikkeling en vernieuwing met een focus op de effectiviteit van het toezicht.
Voedselveiligheid is in al die jaren de rode draad. Van industriële productie, naar horeca, ambacht, retail en zorg. Tijdens de deelsessie zal een relatie gelegd worden tussen de thuiskeuken en de professionele keuken. Er zijn veel overeenkomsten te benoemen, maar toch zijn er ook duidelijke verschillen. Professioneel eten bereiden brengt andere verantwoordlijkheden met zich mee waar men zich niet altijd van bewust is.
Markus Egert studied Biology and Geoecology at the Technical University of Karlsruhe. Subsequently, he did his PhD thesis at the Max-Planck-Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg in the field of Molecular Microbial Ecology, followed by a 2-year PostDoc period at Wageningen University and the Wageningen Centre for Food Sciences focusing on Human Intestinal Microbiology. After that, he joined the Henkel AG & Co. KGaA in Düsseldorf as head of the Laboratory for Microbial Communities, where he lead projects in the fields of body malodor production and laundry hygiene. After a brief appointment as professor for Bioanalytics at Coburg University, he was appointed as professor for Microbiology & Hygiene at Furtwangen University, where he is vice dean of the faculty of Medical & Life Sciences. In addition, he is in charge of the Molecular and Technical Medicine study program. Markus´ main research interests are the human microbiome (intestinal tract, skin) and the microbiome of the built environment of humans.
Dr. Pacini obtained the PhD in Public Health before joining Reckitt Benckiser as Associate Microbiologist. Previously he worked as Scientist in the food safety & quality sector after his Master's degree in Biotechnology, focusing mainly on food borne pathogens, antimicrobial resistance and molecular technologies.
Currently, he is responsible for the R&D Microbiology in fabric and dish product categories. He develops preservation strategies, biocidal formulations and test methods, while he investigates hygienic approaches, opportunities and claims, to solve consumer relevant problems for brands as Vanish and Finish.
Liaising with different organizations, he is interested to apply and transfer microbiological and molecular technologies to different applications.
Merel Langelaar is afgestudeerd als dierenarts in 1996. Na enkele jaren praktijk en later als docent aan de faculteit diergeneeskunde in Utrecht is ze verder gegaan in het onderzoek. Na haar promotie in de immunologie is ze naar het RIVM, Centrum Infectieziektenbestrijding gegaan. In 2010 werd ze wetenschappelijk secretaris bij de Gezondheidsraad, waar ze onder andere meeschreef aan het advies over antibioticagebruik in de veehouderij en resistente bacteriën bij de mens en het advies over Lyme. Sinds 2012 werkt ze als coördinerend specialistisch senior inspecteur bij de Inspectie voor de Gezondheidszorg (IGZ), met als specialisme infectieziekten, infectiepreventie en antibioticaresistentie.
Frauke Depauw studied Biology at the University of Ghent, with a strong interest in various molecular techniques used in Marine Zoology. Subsequently she obtained a Ph.D. in Marine and Molecular Biology at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris and the Stazione Zoologica in Naples, by studying the molecular mechanisms in marine microalgae. In 2013, she started working in
International Regulatory Affairs for the company Becton Dickinson and Company and in 2016, for Cid Lines NV, where she managed all product registrations for Latin-America, Australia, New-Zealand, Portugal and Italy. Only recently, Frauke has started working in Product Development, as she grew an interest in the early stages of product development and processes related to product management
in the field of veterinary hygiene.
Dr. Razenberg is directeur van de NVZ, de brancheorganisatie voor fabrikanten en importeurs van producten die te maken hebben met het reinigen, desinfecteren en onderhouden van de woon-, werk- en leefomgeving. Hij heeft scheikunde gestudeerd in Utrecht en is daar in 1986 ook gepromoveerd in de fysisch-organische chemie. Na 8 jaar gewerkt te hebben bij Akzo Nobel trad hij in 1992 in dienst bij de NVZ. Sinds 2014 is hij algemeen directeur van de NVZ.
